Book Reading-cum-Discussion on the book “The Wheel Turned” by Malathi Ramachandran. Moderated by Mr. Aditya Sondhi, Advocate, Law Chambers

Held on Friday, 17th December, 2010 at 6.30 pm

Bangalore International Centre had arranged a Book Reading of “The Wheel Turned” authored by Ms. Malathi Ramachandran on Friday, 17th December, 2010 at 6:30 pm.  Mr. Aditya Sondhi, Advocate, chaired and moderated the discussions.

The book was based on the life of a young girl Meena who married to an army officer and her life with him in an army cantonment in the verdant hills of Dharmashala in Himachal Pradesh.  Ms. Malathi as she read excerpts from her book brought out in a simple, but telling, manner the joys and sorrows of Army wives, their pattern of living and the void they experience when their husbands go away, never to return.  Mr. Aditya Sondhi also read out some interesting excerpts from the book.  The discussion that followed, in which several retired defense services officials took part, indicated how faithfully Ms. Malathi has recaptured the truth in her book.  It was an interesting and enjoyable evening at BIC.
