In her book, Mrs. Achala Moulik has brought out the facts of The Revolution in November 1917 brought about an epochal transformation in Russia and in the world; its formidable challenge of equality made Western governments implement socio-economic reforms. Russia supported wars of liberation all over the world, and as a super power played a grand-master’s game on the chessboard of continents.

In their presentations, while Lt. Gen. Arjun Ray emphasised on the role of strategic planning to influence the policy makers to take the right decisions at the right moment, Adm. Ravi Ganesh stressed the fact that Russia has all along been a steady partner and friend to India and that this has been to the mutual benefit of both the countries. Amb. Ranganathan who chaired and moderated the discussion drew attention to the fact that the formation of several Islamic states within erstwhile USSR, and the present Russian Federation had a sobering and moderating influence on China and that this has great geo-political significance.
