Jagriti Theatre presented an interesting evening on drama as a tool to bring about Public awareness on Anti-Microbial Resistance. Antimicrobial resistance is an important concern for public health authorities at a global level. In countries like India, the problem has ramifications that reach not just the economically challenged but also those in the higher economic groups.
Mr. Jagdish Raja, Co-Founder of Jagriti Theatre gave an introduction about theatre science.
Mrs. Arundhati Raja led the presentation through her narrations.
Three theatre actors enacted a couple of short scenes from the play, alongside a discussion on the issue. One issue which became clear during the interaction is that a well-conceived and well-produced theatre can be a very useful tool of public engagement and spread of purposive community education.
