Bangalore International Centre had arranged the screening of the Film “The Open Frame” on Monday, 7th November, 2011 at 6:30 pm.
The film was a biopic made on the life of renowned Indian Artist S.G. Vasudev, directed by Chetan Shah, research and interviews by Latamani, with cinematography by Nevroze Contractor. The film depicted the artistic and personal journey of S.G. vasudev, and the establishment of the Cholamandal Artist’s village. It was a sensitively made film on a sensitive artist and the nuances of the evolution of the Madras School of Art came out vividly. In the interactive session, Vasudev elaborated further his views on art and the various mediums through which he expresses himself. Dr. Lata Mani, Art Historian, Mr. Navroze Contractor, Cinematographer and Mr. Chetan Shah added their own perceptive observations to make the evening a memorable one.
