Panel Discussion on "Nature in the City : Hidden in Plain Sight"

Held on Saturday, 4th November, 2017 at 6.30 PM

Bangalore International Centre had organised Panel Discussion on “Nature in the City:
Hidden in Plain Sight” on Saturday, 4th November, 2017 at 6.30 PM. The Panelists were Prof. Harini Nagendra and Ms. K Meera.

In a freewheeling conversation, urban ecologist Harini Nagendra and journalist, Meera took the members on a secret voyage through the flora and fauna that are hidden in plain sight in Bangalore city: the bees, birds, butterflies, plants, trees, rivers, wetlands and lakes that are waiting to engage with us. Prof. Harini Nagendra narrated about the tug of war between nature and development, one that plays out in every urban city across the world and also taught how to seek and find nature in our cities and how vitally important it is, not just to improve our air and water quality but also to remove stress and to give succor to our spirit and soul.

It was an optimistic conversation between Meera: a woman who has a ringside view and deep understanding of Bengaluru’s recent citizen initiatives and Harini

The Q & A was educative and interesting.
