Bangalore International Centre had arranged atalk on “Nanoengineering – The Harder Path BeyondNanoscience” by Prof.RudraPratap, Professor, Centre for Nano Science & Engineering, IISCon Friday, 21stApril, 2017 at 6.30 PM. Prof. Rudrapratap through a power point presentation explained that Nanotechnology as a newly emerging area has occupied the centrestage of scientific research globally for almost two decades. The possibilities obviously are immense in almost every area – be it materials, manufacturing, food, agriculture, healthcare, textiles, water, medicine, electronics, communication, aerospace, environment, security etc. However the current challenge is how soon the country can invest appropriately in nanoengineering and projectising in such key areas which could match such investments being made by USA, China and Japan. Prof. Rudrapratap made an eloquent plea to the policy-planners and the decision-makers in both the Government and the private sector so that India can be a leading player in this area.
