Held on Thursday, 26th April, 2012 at 6:30 pm

Bangalore International Centre had arranged a Talk on “India’s Foreign Policy: The Big Picture” by Ambassador K.P. Fabian, IFS (Retd), Former Ambassador to Qatar, Finland and other nations, on Thursday, 26th April, 2012 at 6:30 pm. The talk was moderated by Ambassador Saurabh Kumar, Formerly Ambassador of India to the IAEA, UNIDO, and UN Offices in Vienna, Austria, Ireland and Vietnam; Visiting Professor, NIAS.

In a wide-ranging talk, Ambassador Fabian underscored the crucial role played by the politicians, particularly the ministers, in shaping and orienting foreign policy. In the process very often inputs from important stake-holders are either not obtained, or ignored. For obvious reasons, this often leads to inconsistency or inappropriate strategical moves. He gave several examples to substantiate this point. The lively interactive session was adroitly moderated by Ambassador Saurabh Kumar.
