Bangalore International Centre had arranged a very interesting Talk by Ms. Madhur Jaffrey, Actress and Cookery Author, on the subject “How an Actress became a Foodie” on Saturday, 9th February, 2013 at 6:30 pm. The event was moderated by Mr. Stanley Pinto,Advertising Guru and Jazz Musician.
A packed auditorium heard Madhur with rapt attention as she talked about her transformational journey – how she was compelled to learn cooking when she was in U.K, undergoing a course in acting. The bland British food that was available was totally unsatisfactory to her palate which was fine-tuned by years of having her mother’ home-cooked food in Delhi. So, she wrote to her mother for recipes and started trying them out. That’s how it began. Through a series of fascinating anecdotes, the recounted her progress as a foodie and responded to the numerous queries raised by the audience. The talk was moderated by Stanley Pinto with great aplomb and a lot of witty interjections.
