On Friday, 13th May, 2011 at 6:30 pm, Bangalore International Centre had arranged screening of a film “Hold Me Tight, Let Me Go” Produced and Directed by Kim Longinotto. This screening was in collaboration with Vikalp, Bengaluru.

The film depicted the turmoil and turbulence in a special institution- the Mulberry Bush School, an Oxford education/treatment facility for emotionally disturbed children. Filmmaker Kim Longinotto offered an inside look at this unusual school for troubled kids in this documentary. The Mulberry Bush School is an institution offering educational and treatment options for disturbed children, many of whom had severe anger issues and had committed violent acts against their family and friends. However, at Mulberry Bush, the staff worked under the principle that their students are not inherently violent, and that their aggressive nature can be overcome with proper treatment and understanding.

The members who braved the rains to watch this deeply moving film felt amply rewarded.
