Carnatic Music being one of the ancient forms of global Classical Music and perhaps one of the most divine arts which got well established about a millennium ago. Whilst a considerable portion of a Carnatic music concert consists of music that has been composed, the true challenge for the musician lies in aspects of improvisation. For the discerning audience too, the improvised aspects like raga alapana, neraval and kalpana swara reveal the talent and skill of the performing artistes. Vid. Prashanth highlighted with examples the grammar of creativity in Carnatic Music.
