The Bangalore International Centre had organised a Play “Finding Ananda” Paying a tribute to Swami Vivekananda which was produced and presented by Bangalore Little Theatre on Tuesday, 17th December, 2013 at 7.00 pm at ADA Rangamandira Auditorium.
True to its tradition, BLT tried to explore what Swami Vivekananda means to the present generation of IT-savvy, skeptical somewhat-sneeringly-dismissive-of-the-past youth. Through a series of nuanced dialogues between several young people, including one first generation NRI student looking for his roots, the Director of the theatre tried to establish that Swami Vivekananda, with his humanistic approach towards the poor and marginalised sections of our society, is still as contemporary and relevant to the present generation as he was in his days. The set and the lighting was innovative. The young actors were good but some of them spoke in a pitch which was not always audible.
