Bangalore International Centre had arranged its Fifth Anniversary function on Sunday, 21st November, 2010 at 6:30 pm at TERI Complex, 4th Main, 2nd Cross, Domlur II Stage, Bangalore- 560071.
Mrs. Sreelakshmi Gururaja, one of the members of the Programme Advisory Committee, welcomed the guests present at the function. The programme started by lighting of the lamp by Dr. A. Ramachandran, President, Bangalore International Centre followed by the address to the guests about the activities of the Centre since its inception, and vote of thanks by Mr. P.R. Dasgupta, Director, Bangalore International Centre.
There was a Music performance by Kolkata based Band viz, “The Indian Blue”, featuring Shiraz Ali Khan (Sarode), Dishari Chakraborty (Santoor), Ronodeep Bose (Guitar), Roheet Mukherjee (Bass Guitar), Priyam Rico Chatterjee (Drums), and Antarip Boral (Tabla/ Percussions). The members of the Band charmed the audience with a heady mix of original and fusion composition on the strains of Sarod, Santoor, guitar and percussion. The performance kept the audience captivated throughout.
There was also an Exhibition cum sale of Tribal Handicrafts by Tribal Cooperative Marketing Development Federation of India Ltd., Ministry of Tribal Affairs, Government of India. Mrs. Geetha Bhat, one of the members of BIC also held an exhibition of her paintings and crafts.
After the Music performance, a contributory dinner was arranged for the members and their spouses.
It was a pleasant Sunday evening with nice weather. Members who attended the function enjoyed the evening and thanked the team of BIC and the Director for organizing a nice get-together.
