Series on Immigration Movies - "ENTRE LES MURS (The Class)"

From Wednesday, 28th June, 2017 at 6.00 PM

Bangalore International Centre had arranged the screening of a feature film under Immigration Series - “Entre Les Murs (The Class)” on Wednesday, 28th June, 2017 at 6.00 PM at its auditorium.

Winner of the Palme d’Or, this absorbing docudrama explores the lives of an idealistic teacher and troubled kids in an immigrant Paris neighbourhood. Based on a 2006 novel of the same name, it is a semi-autobiographical account of the writer Francois Begaudeau’s experiences (he also plays the lead role in the film) as a French language and literature teacher in the 20th arrondisement of Paris. Described by the New York Times as “an artful, intelligent film about modern French identity,” The Class is an exploration of what it means to be French in the twenty-first century.
