Panel discussion around the famous Einstein-Tagore Exchanges - "DEAR DR. EINSTEIN : The Tagore Einstein Exchanges"

Held on Friday, 14th July, 2017 at 6.00 PM

Bangalore International Centre had arranged a Panel Discussion around the famous Einstein-Tagore Exchanges titled – “DEAR DR. EINSTEIN : The Tagore-Einstein Exchanges” on Friday, 14th July, 2017 at 6.00 PM. Prof. Vijay Chandru and Prof. Amrita Shah were the panelists. Prof. Raghavendra Gadagkar chaired and moderated the discussion.
Profs. Raghavendra Gadagkar (CCS) and Vijay Padaki (BLT) had curated the event.
First, two experienced actors viz., Mr. Vijay Sharma and Mr. Sanjeev Gadre from Bangalore Little Theatre read the Einstein-Tagore dialogue.
The discussion was around the meeting of two extraordinary personalities of the twentieth century: Albert Einstein and Rabindranath Tagore. It is said that the two met at least four times during 1930. Tagore was described as ''the poet with the head of a thinker'' and Einstein as ''the thinker with the head of a poet.''
It was noted by all the panelists that the entire dialogue, carried out in a civilized manner, showed a certain uniformity of the world view by two of the most eminent thinkers at that time. Of course, their ways of expression were different. Tagore was more suave and articulate, while Einstein was correct, precise and brief. The Q & A session brought out these subtleties clearly.

The performance was well admired by the audience.
