On Monday, the 26 th April 2010, Mr. Vijay Crishna delivered an illustrated talk at Bangalore International Centre on Reflections on Leadership: An Antarctic Case Study”. The auditorium was packed to the brim, and the entire audience sat mesmerized as Mr. Crishna took them along the expeditions of Sri Ernest Shackleton in the Antarctic through a series of breath-taking slides which were taken by Frank Hurley, the Australian photographer who was in the team of Shackleton. What was emphasized by Mr. Crishna in his talks was that Shackleton displayed extraordinary qualities of leadership in the face of extreme adversity. An incurable optimist, Shackleton led from the front to ensure that no lives were last in the expedition. The standing ovation Mr. Crishna got at the end of his talk was enough testimony to the way his brilliant talk had touched the audience. It was indeed an event to remember.
