A Mexican film “Anonimo Mortal”, offered by FFSI was screened at Bangalore International Centre on Friday, 17th Sept, at 6:30 pm.
"Anónimo Mortal," features El Santo, or "the Saint," played by Rodolfo Huerta, who wears his emblematic silver mask in the wrestling ring as he helps to solve a murder mystery. The main plot centered around the murder-mystery or classic "who-dun-it" theme.
Slick and well directed, the film had an interesting plot involving a gang of former Nazi war criminals trying to kill a few people who had testified against them during the Nuremburg trials and who, coincidentally, had settled down in Mexico. As expected in films of such genre, the hero was a superman who fought like the devil, both within the wrestling arena and outside (while dealing with the Nazis), and managed to extricate himself from most difficult situations. It was good fun watching the film- as enjoyable as an action- packed, well made Bollywood film. People who defied the rain and the traffic log-jams to come to see the film left in a happy mood.
